Why Kong Lah exists
A language barrier should not end a child’s education.
Children from Myanmar can struggle to enter the Thai school system when they do not yet speak Thai. Kong Lah School meets them where they are, helps them continue learning, and builds the language skills they need to participate in life in Thailand.

The founder’s story
A growing response to a growing need.
Winthi Khine saw many children from Myanmar migrant-worker families in her community without a realistic way into school. Their families were building lives in Thailand, but limited Thai language skills kept many children outside the Thai education system.
She created a place where Burmese students could continue their education while learning Thai and English. The school remains her heart and soul, growing through each new classroom, partnership, and child welcomed through its doors.

Happy Life begins
Winthi Khine founded Happy Life Training Center as an independent school for children who needed another path into education.

A licensed school partnership
After outgrowing its original space, Happy Life partnered with Kong Lah to open a larger school licensed within the Thai education system.

More than 500 students
The school surpassed 500 students, reflecting how quickly the need for accessible education had grown.

A building was secured and work began on a dedicated center for language learning.
